Statement Regarding Passing of Former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney

The Town of East Gwillimbury expresses our sincerest condolences on the passing of former Canadian Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney. Mr. Mulroney was the 18th prime minister from 1984 to 1993 and was known for his focus on economic policies, environmental activism, and free trade agreements. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. 

Flags have been lowered at all Town facilities in honour of Mr. Mulroney. A book of condolences will be available on Monday, March 5 at MPP

Seasonal road weight limits in effect

Beginning on Wednesday, February 28, seasonal load restrictions will be in effect.

Commercial vehicles or trailers with a weight above five tonnes or 11,000 pounds per axle will be prohibited on roads where restriction signage is posted and on all truck routes identified as restricted. These restrictions also apply to all non-truck routes.
