The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG)'s Building Standards Branch provides residents and businesses with information related to building permits and approvals related to the Building Code (Building Code Act, 1992, S.O. 1992, Chapter 23). This ensures that all construction completed within the Town is done so in a safe manner, respecting public health, fire protection, accessibility, and structural sufficiency.
The Building Standards Branch does not provide home inspection or property evaluation services for the purposes of real estate transactions.

Building Safety Month
May is Building Safety Month, which highlights the importance of modern, resilient building codes, and the professionals who enforce them.
