The Loft Grand Opening

All are welcome to celebrate the official opening of this new community space! Speeches and ribbon cutting ceremony to begin at 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. COVID-19 safety protocols are in place. 

When: March 22, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Where: EG Sports Complex (1914B Mount Albert Rd., Sharon)

Mosquito Control Program for 2022

The Town’s mosquito control program is scheduled to begin in April, weather permitting. The program consists of the application of a biological larvicide (VectoBac 200G [PCP#18158, granular formulation]), by helicopter, to standing water mosquito breeding habitats within the Town.

Property owners within the treatment areas were mailed objection forms. If you object to having Vectobac applied to your property, please complete the objection form by March 25, 2022. No response is required if you support...

Trails and Outdoor Skating Rink Closures

Due to warm temperatures, the following closures are in place:

  • Ridge View Park Outdoor Rink
  • Vivian Creek Park Trail
  • Shannon Park Trail
  • Nokiidaa Trail bridge (at Green Lane)

Children of Peace Park

Calling all sculptors! Children of Peace Park Public Art Project!

The Arts and Culture Advisory Committee has launched a public sculpture competition for art to be displayed in Children of Peace Park. To participate, sculptors are invited to submit a Concept and Preliminary Design proposal. The deadline to apply is March 31, visit Arts and Culture page for more information.

EG lifts public health measures to enter recreation facilities

Effective March 1, visitors are no longer required to complete an online pre-screening or show proof of vaccination prior to entering Town recreational facilities. The Town has also lifted the capacity limits in its facilities.

Face coverings and physical distancing requirements remain in place, except when actively participating in a recreation program.
