The Town of East Gwillimbury's (EG) Community Parks, Recreation and Culture Department (CPRC) has coordinated a public consultation process for you to comment on the redevelopment of Emily Park and Simcoe Trail extension. These projects were identified as capital projects in 2020.
Background
Emily Park is approximately 1.01 acres in size and is located at 35 Thompson Drive, in Holland Landing. The park currently features senior play equipment and an open play area with mature trees surrounding the perimeter of the park. Next to Emily Park is 9.55 acres of Town-owned open space. Currently, this site accommodates many storm water management facilities.
Project
The project scope includes redevelopment of Emily Park and the extension of Simcoe Trail through the Town’s open space lands. Located at 35 Thompson Drive, in Holland Landing. Emily Park is 1.01 acres with approximately 0.2 acres of the site being utilized for storm water management. The park currently has senior play equipment with an open play area. The park will serve as a trailhead to the extension of the Simcoe Trail. Simcoe Trail provides an important link to Holland Landings' active transportation system. The proposed trail will consist of both limestone and boardwalk features.
