EG offers a variety of drop-in programs throughout our community to offer a selection of activities that meet the needs of your busy schedule.

Please Note: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Basketball drop-in on October 22, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harvest Hills has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Admission Fees - Drop-in Gymnasium 

  • Children (16 and under): $3 per person
  • Adult (17+ years old): $3.39 per person
  • Older Adult (50+ years old): $3 per person

  • 10 Youth Visit Active EG Pass (11 to 17 years old) $25
  • 10 Adult Visit Active EG Pass (18 to 49 years old) $28.25

Passes are sold at the East Gwillimbury Sports Complex (cash, credit or debit is accepted), Ross Family Complex (cash only) or Harvest Hills Community Centre (cash only).

 Gymnasium Drop-in Guidelines
 

The Town of East Gwillimbury’s highest priority is the health and safety of participants, staff and visitors. We ask that the following guidelines be adhered to for the safety of all users during all drop-in programs.

  • Drop-ins have strict capacities and age guidelines that must be followed.
  • Admission sales begin 15 minutes prior to the scheduled program start time on a first come, first served basis. Participants must be present at the time of purchase. No exceptions.
  • Admission must be purchased in-person with the drop-in leader before participants can enter the gymnasium. Due to high demand, participants are not permitted to pay and hold spots for others.
  • Children seven years and younger must be supervised by a parent/guardian 16 years or older in all drop-ins.
  • Food or drink is not permitted, with the exception of water.
  • The Town of East Gwillimbury is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
  • Clean, close toed, indoor running shoes are required. Crocs, sandals, and flipflops are not permitted.
  • Any music played must be kept to an appropriate volume and be appropriate for all facility users.
  • Participants are to use equipment for its intended use respectfully, appropriately and safely at all times.
  • All participants must follow the Respect in Public Spaces policy and direction from program staff. If participants are not following guidelines and/or the Respect in Public Spaces policy, staff may ask them to leave the program.
 Pickleball Drop-in Guidelines
 

These programs run on a first come first serve basis. No registration is required. 
Maximum participants per Pickleball programs is 24.

  • All pickleball drop-ins are open to participants 16+ of all skill levels to play a recreational game or practice their skills.
  • Drop-ins will be staffed, however, no instruction on how to play is provided in the drop-in sessions. All skill levels are welcome.
  • Paddles are provided or players can bring their own.
  • Participants must not enter the gymnasium before the start of the scheduled program time.
  • Participants must leave the gymnasium at the end of the designated program time.
  • Pickleball is meant to be enjoyable for everyone involved. Be inclusive and welcoming to players of all skill levels and abilities. We encourage others to join in and have fun during the drop-in program.
  • All participants must follow the Respect in Public Spaces policy and direction from program staff. If participants are not following guidelines and/or the Respect in Public Spaces policy, staff may ask them to leave the program.

Program Description

Active Start

Active Start Drop-In is the perfect opportunity for children aged 0 to 5 to embark on an exciting journey of exploration and learning in a safe and supportive environment. Our open gym setting is filled with age-appropriate equipment, allowing little ones to play, interact, and develop essential
motor skills while having fun. Parent supervision and participation are key, strengthening the parent-child bond and creating shared moments of discovery. It’s an ideal place for social interaction, helping children build social skills, share, and cooperate with their peers. With flexible timing to suit your schedule, Active Start Drop-In offers a convenient and enriching experience that fosters early childhood development and creates lasting memories. Join us for a playtime adventure where children can learn, explore, and grow.

Artist Drop-in

Join our instructor for a fun, dynamic workout geared to your fitness level and ability. This program incorporates resistance bands, kettlebells and hand-held weights for a low-impact muscle-conditioning workout designed to help improve strength, mobility, and flexibility. As we improve, you’ll try new exercises and build on your progress.

Basketball

The Zumba Gold class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. It will incorporate moves you love at a lower-intensity. 

Pickleball

Our instructor will walk you through the steps of traditional and country line dancing. Great fun and Fitness too! All levels welcome. 

Pickleball - Beginner

 

Yin is a slower-paced, meditative style of yoga where postures are held for longer periods of time than in other traditional styles. Our instructor will guide you through various sequences designed to target the body’s connective tissues such as tendons, fasciae and ligaments in order to increase circulation in joints and improve flexibility. Breathing techniques incorporated in this program will help to lower levels of stress and anxiety, leaving you with a sense of calm.

Pickleball - Advanced

An introduction to Hatha Yoga designed for students who are new or returning to yoga. You will be guided by our instructor to gently explore basic postures and simple breathing techniques, followed by guided relaxation. Yoga improves your tone, helps strengthen and balance the body, and is ideal for counteracting the stresses of daily life.

Youth Pickleball

Youth Volleyball

 

Designed for participants of all levels of experience, this program focuses on smooth transitions from one pose to the next. Our instructor will guide you through a variety of sequences where each movement is synchronized with your breathing to create a sense of flow. Yoga Flow is ideal for helping to build muscle strength and endurance, while improving balance and overall cardiovascular fitness.
