Currently, EG’s Fireworks By-law regulates the use and sale of fireworks, including when and where they can be set off.
Reminder:
Fireworks can only be set off on your own private property between
sunset and 11 p.m. from May 18 to May 22 and from June 29 to July 3.
You must be 18 years old to set off fireworks.
Any person in violation of the Fireworks By-law may be fined.
Please contact our By-law Department to report any fireworks complaints or
call the non-emergency YRP number at 1-866-876-5423.
Permits are required for any firework displays outside of Canada Day and Victoria Day.
An Application for Discharge for any fireworks display that you wish to host is required to be submitted to Emergency and Community Safety Services.
Setting off fireworks is not permitted on public property unless permission from the property owner is obtained. Find more information in the Fireworks Bylaw.
Fireworks are part of many celebrations and traditions. The fire service strongly recommends attending a professional display instead of doing your own fireworks, as they can be very dangerous.
