      • EDCO evaluated the project for its clarity, comprehensiveness, public engagement, uniqueness, and ability to provide a return on investment.

  • Climate Wise Building Challenge - Corporate Services, Environmental Initiatives 

    • East Gwillimbury Sports Complex
      • Top ranked municipal award received by Criss Ross on behalf of the Town at the Climate Wise Building.
  • National Day of Truth and Reconciliation - Communications
    • Won gold for strategic communications/public relations campaign. 
  • Firefighter Recruitment - Communications
    • Won gold for strategic communications/marketing and promotion campaign.
 2021
  • Healthy Water Award - LSRCA Project Management (November 26)
    Community, Parks, Recreation and Culture Department 
    • Lid Retrofit Projects 2020 and 2021
      • This award was presented to the Community Parks, Recreation and Culture department for the two LID Retrofit Projects that were completed at the Nokiidaa Trail and Yonge St. and Mount Albert Rd. trailhead parking lots in 2020 and 2021. Both projects included the resurfacing of public parking areas with the implementation of a bio-retention swale that captures, filters and infiltrates stormwater runoff from the newly paved surface areas. 
  • Healthy Community Award - LSRCA Project Management (November 26)
    Environmental Advisory Committee 
    • No Mow May Initiative
      • This award was presented to EG's Environmental Advisory Committee for their “No Mow May” campaign. During the month of May, residents were asked to take a pledge to help protect pollinators in our community. 
  • Canadian Award for Excellence - Finance Department
    • Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) 2019 Award for Financial Statements
      • This award is presented to municipalities that produce high quality, easily readable reports that conform to program requirements and go above and beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Best Challenge Awards (BCA) - Best Web GIS (May 4) - Town of East Gwillimbury
    • Parks and Trails Web Story Map
      • The Best Web GIS award is presented to organizations that have demonstrated advanced internet/intranet mapping services that enable publishing and sharing of geographic information through the integration of multiple business systems.

      • The Best Public Sector GIS award is presented to organizations that have demonstrated the use of GIS in improving effectiveness and efficiency in enterprise GIS for public sector operations.

  • Top Employee Recommended Workplace - March 2018
    • East Gwillimbury is one of only two municipalities and one of only eleven organizations across the country to receive the Top Employee Recommended Workplace in the Mid-Size Government Category presented by the Globe and Mail and Morneau Shepell. 
    • Employee Recommended Workplace Winner Badge 2018The Employee Recommended Workplace Awards are determined solely by the organization's employees. Employees of each participating organization filled out an online survey where they were asked to rate themselves on the four key pillars of total health: physical, mental, work, and social. The awards were given to organizations that have the highest overall employee scores in their category.
