• Creating a safe, high-quality aquatic environment by actively supervising pool activities, responding to emergencies, and maintaining compliance with safety standards
• Provide leadership, effective communication, teamwork, and excellent customer service, serving as a role model for the public and staff
• Provide consistent safety through vigilant monitoring, emergency response techniques, performing routine maintenance, and supporting staff and volunteers
• Planning, organizing, and teaching swim lessons that promote skill development and water safety.
• Supporting participant development through various teaching techniques, progression and skill development
• Facilitating engaging swim lesson instructions, maintaining vigilance, and responding to participant needs

3. Participate in a wet screening to perform physical skills to pool design and depth, first aid skills and a teaching demonstration
4. Successful candidates will be selected to complete a formal interview

1. Camp Directors and Camp Supervisors will complete a formal interview with Town staff when selected
2. Camp Inclusion Counsellors, Camp Counsellors and Junior Camp Counsellors will go through a two-step interview process that consists of an interactive portion and an interview portion.

• Plan and instruct high quality programs/classes for participants of varying ages and abilities
• Create a welcoming, safe, and positive environment for all participants
• Provide adaptations and modifications to planned exercises and/or available equipment where appropriate
• Effectively communicate with participants and address any concerns, complaints, or suggestions about the program
• Ensure equipment is safe and maintained
• Ability and willingness to instruct outdoors

• Post secondary diploma in applied arts or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working with children, youth, adults and/or older adults, preferably in a recreational setting

• Lead instructional programs for participants of all ages
• Set up and clean up of all supplies and equipment
• Create a welcoming, safe, and positive environment for all participants
• Provide any modifications to planned programming where appropriate
• Communicate with participants and parents/guardians
