Environmental Strategy – The Town has a draft Environmental Strategy ready for public review. The content of the strategy was developed based on a year-long public engagement campaign and outlines the work the Town is currently doing and future initiatives and projects. Temporary Warming Centres in EG
During cold weather, these EG facilities can be used as temporary warming centres during regular business hours:
- Civic Centre (19000 Leslie Street)
- East Gwillimbury Sports Complex (1914B Mount Albert Road)
- Ross Family Complex (19300 Centre Street)
- East Gwillimbury Public Library - Holland Landing Branch (19513 Yonge Street)
- East Gwillimbury Public Library - Mount Albert Branch (19300 Centre Street)
Out of the Cold
Blue Door's Mosaic Interfaith Out of the Cold is opening another program in East Gwillimbury. The location is:
- Victory Baptist Church (18408 Yonge Street) at the back door
- Nightly from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Open until April 30, 2024

Snow Tips
Here are some winter reminders when snow is in the forecast:
- When it snows or snow clearing crews are active, please keep vehicles and waste collection bins off the road.
- If you have a fire hydrant near you, clear 1 metre of space around it in case of an emergency.
- There is no street parking when it is snowing outside.
- Do not let vehicles overhang onto the road or sidewalks when parked.

Snow Clearing Assistance Program
EG is offering a Snow Removal Financial Assistance Pilot Program for the winter season for residents over 65 or under 65 with a disability. Applications for the season must be received by April 15, 2024, and are limited.

Draft Tree Protection By-law
The Town is seeking public feedback on a Draft Tree Protection By-law. The proposed draft By-law will protect existing tree canopy on private property to ensure the preservation of natural heritage areas throughout the Town. Residents are invited to review the draft By-law and provide feedback at the following Public Open House dates:

Find your 2024 Property Tax Information Online
View your 2024 property tax account balances and summaries through our online portal. Residents can also access Town bills online, receive e-bills, and pay their bills via the online portal.
