2022 Interim Property Tax Bills

2022 interim property tax bills were mailed by January 14, 2022. Payments are due February 28 and April 29. Payments can be made at your bank, online/phone banking or through a pre-authorized payment plan.

Visit the Property Tax page for details.

Do not use Stormwater Ponds for Recreation
Residents are reminded to not use neighbourhood stormwater ponds for any recreational activities.

It may look like a great place to have a game of pick-up hockey or a leisurely skate, but it is dangerous. These ponds have a specific job, and that’s to continuously collect stormwater runoff from neighbourhoods.

Water flows in and out of stormwater ponds all year long, making them an unsafe place to play. Temperature changes can cause major variations in ice thickness, while air pockets and water contaminants (salt from roads) can also weaken the ice. Please don’t risk putting yourself in a dangerous and unpredictable situation.

Coyote Mating Season

Late January through to early March is mating season for coyotes and residents may hear or see coyotes looking for mates. If you encounter a coyote, keep your distance and keep pets on a leash. If the coyote is aggressive:

  1. Stop and pick up small children and pets.
  2. Shout loudly, wave your arms high in the air or use whistles.
  3. Back away slowly while remaining calm.
  4. Never run or turn your back on a coyote.

To learn more about living with wildlife, please visit the Ministry of Natural Resources website. If the coyote poses a threat to public safety, please call 911.

Outdoor skating in EG!

EG has two outdoor skating rinks, located at Ridge View Park in Holland Landing, and Mount Albert Community Centre Park in Mount Albert. Rinks are subject to weather conditions, and skaters are encouraged to always wear helmets. Registration is not required, however residents are asked to limit skating to 30 minutes so everyone can enjoy the ice. Visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/publicskating or follow us on social media for status updates on the rinks.

Artists Registry

The Town of East Gwillimbury and the Art and Culture Advisory Committee would like to connect with local artists for up coming events through the "EG Artists' Registry". To apply, please visit the Arts and Culture page and complete the Artist Registry Form.
