Covid-19 Updates - A staff memo was presented to Council outlining key Town COVID-19 updates. This includes the reopening of the Civic Centre, Sports Complex and other facilities to the public. The libraries remain open with limited capacity. For additional information, visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Covid19.
Yonge and Green Lane Development Master Plan - The Yonge and Green Lane concept for development was presented to Council. The area consists of 150 acres at the northeast corner of Yonge and Green Lane. The concept has many sustainable features and zones that are comprised of residential, commercial, natural environment and public spaces. Fully built out, the development is expected to have 3000 units for about 6,000 people.
Development Charge (DC) Changes - Staff presented findings of the Development Charges Review which took place in 2021. The review included consultation with Council,
developers, and other stakeholders. Although the current DC Bylaw expires May 2024, an amendment is required to address increasing costs related to rising infrastructure and
construction projects – particularly for the Health and Active Living Plaza for which construction is expected to begin by the end of 2022. The new rates took effect on February 1, 2022.
