Acting Mayor Update

At a Special Council meeting on Thursday, November 2, Mayor Hackson announced she was taking a short-term medical leave for up to three months.

In the absence of the Mayor, East Gwillimbury follows a Rotational Acting Mayor Schedule.  As per the current schedule, Councillor Scott Crone assumed the role of Acting Mayor until November 30, 2023. Starting December 1, 2023, Councillor Brian Johns will assume the Acting Mayor role and serve as East Gwillimbury’s Council representative at York Regional Council.
