Yard Waste Collection
Yard waste collection takes place every other week. Please place yard waste in paper, compostable bags or open top containers (labelled with yellow yard waste stickers) at the side of the street with the rest of your collection bins. Old Yonge Street Road Closure
Yonge Street remains closed to through traffic for the construction of a retaining wall and road surface improvements and is expected to reopen in June 2023. Due to wet weather and increased traffic volumes the road condition has deteriorated and cannot accommodate traffic. A full road closure is now necessary to ensure the safety of all travellers.
Mosquito Control Program
The mosquito control program is the application of biological larvicide VectoBac 200G [PCP#18158, granular formulation] which will be applied by helicopter to select standing water mosquito breeding habitats within East Gwillimbury. This program is weather dependent and is scheduled to begin this month. Visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Mosquito to view the treatment areas. Joint Public Information Centre
Get involved with EG’s Transportation and Water/ Wastewater Master Plan update! Attend the joint Public Information Centre on Wednesday, April 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Civic Centre, 19000 Leslie Street, Sharon to review draft recommendations and share your feedback. In accordance with the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process, both master plans will create a sustainable blueprint for growth and infrastructure in EG until 2051. Calling all Hockey Fans
Join the ECSS unofficial hockey team as they take on the EG U18 Eagles in a head-to-head charity hockey game to support the Newmarket Nighthawks - Special Needs Hockey on April 23 at the EG Sports Complex.
