Highlights from the April 18 meeting
New Trails Coming to York Region
York Region purchased land to create the Sutton Hill/Zephyr Rail Trails. The Town will work with the Region to rehabilitate the trail to ensure it is safe for users. Further communications will be shared with the public once the trail is available for use.
EG is Committed to Protecting the Environment
Council declared a climate emergency. This declaration is meant to showcase Council’s commitment to protecting our ecosystem and show support for environmental initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint. Yard Waste Collection
Yard waste collection takes place every other week. Please place yard waste in paper, compostable bags or open top containers (labelled with yellow yard waste stickers) at the side of the street with the rest of your collection bins. Bag tags for waste collection can be purchased at the Civic Centre Customer Service desk during regular business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or at EG Public Libraries while supplies lasts. Protect Pollinators in EG by taking the No Mow May Pledge
Residents are asked to avoid or limit mowing their lawns until June to support the creation of food sources and homes for pollinators during spring.
