The construction activity at the Civic Centre and the intersection at Leslie Street and Mount Albert Road continues.
The construction will result in lane restrictions and traffic delays. There will be traffic control persons and paid duty officers present during working hours to assist with traffic control. It is anticipated that this work will take approximately two weeks. Access to the Civic Centre front entrance will be maintained through a single, traffic-controlled lane.
Please note that steel cover/crossing plates will be used in the intersection, which can be very slippery under winter conditions, please use caution while driving over the plates as they may reduce the stopping/turning ability for vehicles.
Once the construction work moves east of the intersection, the restoration of the Civic Centre driveway from the rear parking lot to the Leslie Street intersection will be completed.
Throughout construction, visitors can use the temporary entrance off Beechborough Cres. to access the facility parking lot and use the backdoors to enter the building. Pedestrian access is also available to the front of the Civic Centre, please park at the Annex located on the east side of Leslie Street, or the Temperance Hall, located on the south side of the Civic Centre. Flag staff will be in place to assist safe passage to the front doors.
