York Region will be working in Mount Albert, upgrading the Mount Albert Water Resource Recovery Facility by installing a new odour control unit, a heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) system, replacing the roof and completing other minor work. The upgrade work will extend the life of the facility. Work is scheduled to take place from December 2021 to fall/winter 2022.

Beginning January 2022, the Town will return to its two bag/ item garbage collection limit. Additional waste, including bulky items that are over the limit will require a collection tag. Visit the Garbage, Recycling and Green Bin page for more information.
Please keep our facilities and open spaces safe and clean for all to enjoy. To report graffiti in a Town park or facility, please complete the Community Parks Watch form. If you see vandalism in progress, call 911. Graffiti is a crime and should be reported to York Regional Police.
Help keep our pipes and facilities clear by only flushing toilet paper down the toilet! Flushing items that don’t belong (including those marked flushable) down our toilets and drains can lead to backups in homes and problems at our wastewater treatment facilities. Overnight parking permits are available in municipal parking lots at the Ross Family Complex, Civic Centre, and Holland Landing Community Centre. Residents may purchase a permit to use these spots overnight for one month between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. For more information, visit the Overnight Parking Permit page.
Emergency and Community Safety Services’ is counting down to the Holidays with 12 Days of Holiday Fire and CO Safety! From December 12 to 24, a holiday safety message will be posted to our social media channels and announced on local radio station, 105.9 The Region. COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic - December 14 from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holland Landing Community Centre. Appointments are required for age 5 to 11 and booster doses. Walk-ins are accepted for age 12+ first and second dose. Visit York Region's website to book an appointment.
