2025 Budget Adopted
2025 Budget has been adopted, setting the course for key investments in community safety, assets and infrastructure, and service enhancements for the growing community. The budget ensures the continued delivery of high-quality services while maintaining the lowest relative property taxes in York Region.

The total approved budget of $73.5 million is comprised of $16.7 million for capital projects, $38.6 million for tax-supported programs, $12.8 million for water services, and $5.4 million for development fees.

The 2025 budget includes an annual tax levy increase of $150 for the average homeowner or $12.50 per month.

The budget also includes a Water and Wastewater Services rate increase of approximately $5 per month for the average user. This enables the Town to continue to provide clean and safe drinking water and wastewater services.

Looking back
EG’s Integrity Commissioner shared a memo on a proposed update to the EG Council/ Committee Code of Conduct. IC Memo - Proposed Updated EG Code of Conduct.

The Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) department brought forward the Naming Rights Policy and the Sponsorship Policy for approval. PRC2024-12 Naming Rights and Sponsorship.

A report on Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRAs)  provided an update on EG’s current administration and enforcement of STRAs. It included information on current regulations, the volume of complaints received, and the number of estimated STRA listings in the Town. DS2024-34 Short Term Rental Accommodations.

Canada Post Strike
Due to the Canada Post strike, all residents can pick up their water bill during regular business hours at the Civic Centre or:

December 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at:

• Ross Family Complex (Mount Albert residents only)
• EG Sports Complex (Sharon and Queensville residents only)
• Holland Landing Library (Holland Landing, River Drive Park and Harvest Hills residents only)

Note: Residents will be required to present a piece of photo ID to pick up their bill.

You can also access your bills online by registering for e-billing at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/ebilling.

Resident Registration
Winter program registration is open for residents! Non-resident registration opens on December 12. Note that starting this winter season, a $15 fee (plus applicable taxes) for non-residents will apply to all registered programs and camps. EG residents are exempt from this increase— just make sure your ActiveNet “city” is set to 'East Gwillimbury' to skip the fee. If you require assistance validating your address, please email leisure1@eastgwillimbury.ca and we will be happy to help.

Snow Clearing Assistance Program
EG is offering a Snow Removal Financial Assistance Pilot Program for residents over 65 or residents with a disability. Limited spaces are available. Apply before April 15, 2025. Learn more at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/SnowAssistance.

Winter Parking Reminders
Winter is here in EG! which means winter parking regulations are in effect! What are the regulations in EG? See below:

• Do not park on the street during snow clearing operations. Vehicles parked on the street during snow clearing operations are subject to fines.
• Do not let vehicles or objects overhang onto the street or sidewalk.
• All Parking Consideration Forms are not valid during a winter weather event.

Park with Peace
EG is not issuing parking tickets for residents parked more than the standard 3-hour limit, or between 2 and 6 a.m. from December 24 to January 1! Vehicles parked on the road during snow clearing operations are not exempt from tickets. Learn more at www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Parking.

Toy and Food Drive
EG’s annual Toy and Food Drive wants to make the holidays a little brighter! Donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards, new unwrapped toys, toiletries and more are being accepted until Monday, December 16, 2024.

Yard Waste
Yard waste collection takes place every other week until December 14. Place yard waste in compostable bags or open top containers (labelled as yard waste) with the rest of your collection bins. Download the Recycle Coach App to receive personalized waste collection reminders and schedule changes!

Mount Albert Parade Road Closure
Santa Claus is coming to Mount Albert on Saturday, December 7 at 11 a.m. for the Mount Albert Community Santa Claus Parade. Road closures will be in effect for the parade. The affected streets below will be closed starting at 10:50 a.m.:
