Auutmn of Openings

The Town of East Gwillimbury (EG) is excited to celebrate the start of a new season with various parks and trail openings throughout town. This fall, we’re celebrating the completion of two redeveloped park projects, new tennis courts, a disc golf course, and a new trail in Queensville with official opening events and celebrations. We invite our community to join us at these events to explore these new spaces, gather with neighbours and experience the beautiful outdoors in EG.

Save the dates and plan to join EG Mayor Virginia Hackson and Members of Council, staff, the project team, and community for:

Opening Celebrations and Ribbon-Cutting ceremonies

  • King Street Park, 351 King Street on September 17 at 9 a.m.
  • Emily Park, 35 Thompson Drive on September 26 at 10 a.m.
  • Queensville Trail, entrance at Petal Avenue on September 25 at 5 p.m. Join us to celebrate and walk along Queensville’s first trail.
  • Sharon Hills Park Tennis Courts and Disc Golf Course, 191 Colonel Wayling Blvd on October 1 at 6 p.m. Check out the new tennis courts and learn how to play disc golf from experienced instructors.

All events will include an official ribbon-cutting and photo opportunity for media.

“I am looking forward to sharing the official opening celebrations of our new and improved park spaces with our residents and visitors,” says Mayor Virgina Hackson. “Creating outdoor spaces that promote an active and healthy lifestyle is a top priority for Council. I want to acknowledge our staff team for making these projects happen and ensuring that as our community grows it remains a great place to live, work, and most importantly play.”

EG is home to 54 km of trails, including active transportation trails, multi-use pathways, and 47 parks. To find a park or trail near you or to learn more about the Autumn of Openings please visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Parks
