A look back  –  

February 19, 2025 – Committee of the Whole Council – 2 p.m.  

An administrative memo on the Town’s Assessment of Potential Tariffs was on the agenda. Watch the discussion here.  

Corporate Services brought forward the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan - 2024 Annual Status Report, as well as a memo on the Town’s Climate Adaptation Plan for Community engagement.   

Parks, Recreation and Culture shared a memo on recent funding secured through the Seniors Active Living Centre (SALC) Program Expansion grant through the Province of Ontario.

Climate Change Adaptation Plan
EG is developing a Climate Adaptation Plan and needs your input. Last year, EG identified the potential impacts of changing weather patterns. This is the initial work to define actions to help mitigate those impacts and be better prepared. Join us at our workshops to provide your feedback on the Climate Adaption Plan.

Snow Clearing Assistance Program
Calling all EG residents! EG is offering a snow removal grant to residents aged 65 and older or those with disabilities. Space is limited. Apply by April 15, 2025, online or in person at the Civic Centre or Sports Complex Customer Service desks. For more details, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/SnowAssistance.

Snow has arrived in EG! here are some winter parking reminders: 

• Do not push snow onto roads  
• Do not park on roads from 2 to 6 a.m.  
• Do not let your car overhang onto roads or sidewalks

Notice of Aerial Application of Larvicide to Control Larval Mosquitoes
Weather permitting, beginning March 31 until May 31, the biological larvicide VectoBac 200G [PCP#18158, granular formulation] will be applied by helicopter to select standing water mosquito breeding habitats within EG. View the treatment areas at eastgwillimbury.ca/mosquito. This product contains B.t.i., which is specific to mosquito larvae. Mortality results within 24 hours; the larvicide biodegrades within 72 hours.
