A look back –  
February 4, 2025 
Committee of the Whole Council – 10 a.m. 

Two Development Services memos were on the agenda.  

A joint report from Engineering and Public Works and Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) was shared, seeking approval to assume the public works and services in the Valmaderra Holdings Corp. Phase 1 Subdivision. 

PRC also brought forward two memos; one regarding an easement near the Nokiidaa Trail, and another regarding an agreement with Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority to enter into a Monitoring Plot Agreement.

Several Minutes, Recommendations and Correspondence appeared on the agenda. 

A look ahead  – 
February 11, 2025 Education Workshop – 6 p.m. 

Two presentations will take place during the workshop evening: Development Services will share a presentation on Growth Management, and PRC will share a presentation on Sponsorship and Naming Rights in EG.

Civic Centre Closure
The Civic Centre will be closed on Monday, February 17 for Family Day. If you have an emergency with regards to water, sewers, or roads, please call 905-478-4282 and press option 3. Bridge Construction York Durham Line Bridges 113 and 114
Bridge construction on York Durham Line bridges 113 and 114 will begin mid-February! Last week, the contractor began mobilizing onsite, with construction expected to begin in mid-February. The contractor will begin by completing activities that are not weather dependent. Bridge construction work is expected to occur throughout the year, with the bridge’s reopening planned for Spring 2026. Learn more at eastgwillimbury.ca/InfrastructureProjects.

East Gwillimbury Farmers Market
The EG Farmers Market is looking for vendors! We are looking for businesses, farmers, community groups, not-for-profit organizations, youth entrepreneurs, and food trucks to join our 2025 season. Early Bird rates are currently available until March 1. Early bird applicants can make vendor spot requests for consideration on a first come basis. Learn more and apply at eastgwillimbury.ca/FarmersMarket. 

Find Your 2025 Property Tax Information Online
The 2025 interim tax bills have been mailed. Due to the Canada Post strike, you may receive your bills late. If you did not receive your bill, please contact the Town at 905-478-4282, and we will re-issue the bill. The first installment due date is February 28, 2025. March Break Camps
Spend your March Break with us! March Break Camp registration is available now. Register for:

• Junior March Break Camp – 4 to 6 years
• Senior March Break Camp – 7 to 12 years

Summer Camp Registration
Summer Camp registration opens soon! Whether it’s first time campers, artists, makers, athletes, nature and animal lovers, aspiring superheroes or future leaders… We have something fun for every camper!

• Resident registration opens February 17 at 8:30 a.m.
• Non-resident registration opens February 20 at 8:30 a.m.
• Our 2025 Summer Camp guide will be available online February 6, with everything you need to know including a full list of our camps!

Food Pantry
The Food Pantry will be open on Saturday, February 22 at the Holland Landing Community Centre (19513 Yonge Street). If you would like to support the Food Pantry, you can:

• Make a monetary donation online through Canada Helps Donation site (in the message field, write “Food Pantry”)
• Make a monetary donation in person at any EG PublicLibrary location. Please note all monetary donations by cheque should be made out to “East Gwillimbury Public Library”. You will be asked to fill out a donation form which will include a note to include ‘Food Pantry’ to ensure we have the correct information for tax receipts.

Snow Clearing Assistance Program
Calling all EG residents! EG is offering a snow removal grant to residents aged 65 and older or those with disabilities. Space is limited. Apply by April 15, 2025, online or in person at the Civic Centre or Sports Complex Customer Service desks. For more details, visit eastgwillimbury.ca/SnowAssistance.

Winter Solstice Art Show and Sale

Black History Month Flag Raising
Join us in collaboration with the York Region Alliance of African Canadian Communities for a flag raising ceremony in honour of Black History Month (BHM) on Thursday, February 13 at 10 a.m. at the Civic Centre community flagpole. Family Fun Day
Bring your family and join us for Family Fun Day on February 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the EG Sports Complex! This event is free and is suitable for all ages. Summer camp registration opens and will be available for EG residents to register in-person from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Customer Service desk. Summer camp resident registration is also available online. Enjoy:

• Free public skating
• Face painting
• Outdoor entertainment – Fire pit and DJ!
• Food and beverage vendors ($)
