July 25 – Committee of the Whole at 10 a.m.

Development Services - Development Services, Planning Branch, brought forward a report on a Request for Interim Provision of Residential Servicing Allocation to Ashley Park Development (Sharon) Inc.

Winter Maintenance Update – A summary of EG’s winter maintenance activity from the November 2023 to April 2024 season was shared including details on the operational program and improvement initiatives for the upcoming season. The Snow Removal Financial Assistance Pilot program will continue for the 2024 to 2025 season. 

Green Fleet Strategy – An Engineering and Public Works Memo was shared on efforts to sustainably manage EG’s fleet moving forward, which is aligned to the Town’s Environmental strategy.

Storm Pond Monitoring Plan and Maintenance Prioritization Update – provided updates on the outcomes of the Stormwater Management Inspection and Maintenance Prioritization Program and the planned Comprehensive Stormwater Management Master Plan.

Leslie Street Active Transportation Updates – Staff  provided an update on planned active transportation and infrastructure improvements along Leslie Street from Manor Hampton Street to Green Lane.

Health and Active Plaza Update – A summary of facility construction to date, including project milestones and images was shared. As well, the Parks, Recreation and Culture team provided an update on proposed 2025 plans and processes related to the permitting process and fee structure for the rental of community halls and room spaces.

Fire and Emergency Services (FES) Updates – Organizational structure changes regarding the structure of the Fire department were shared.

Vivian Creek Trail Improvements
Beginning in August, EG is making improvements to the Vivian Creek Trail in partnership with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority. The Town is improving drainage, completing stream restoration, and providing wetland enhancement. For updates on park improvement projects in EG, visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/ParksProjects

Help Develop EG’s Heritage Strategy!
Are you a EG resident or business owner? Are you interested in EG’s heritage? We want to hear from you! The Town is seeking input from residents and businesses to help guide the development of a Municipal ​​Heritage Strategy to support heritage preservation. Pre-engineering work begins for the Mount Albert Storm Sewer Outfalls, Retaining Wall and Trail in Vivian Creek Park
EG’s project consultant, Aquafor Beech Limited will be in the field completing preliminary pre-engineering work for future enhancements to the storm sewer outfalls and retaining wall within Vivian Creek Park. Surveying, utility locating, arborist, environmental, and stormwater assessments are scheduled to be completed by September.
 
This work is part of a multi-year project that includes detailed design, public engagement, and construction.

Road Micro-surfacing Begins
Fresh surfaces are coming to a road near you this summer! Road crews are preparing our sidewalks, curbs, and roads for micro-surfacing. The treatment will extend the life of the road surface, save future construction costs, and has less impact on the environment than other road treatments.
