A look back  – 
March 18, 2025 – Committee of the Whole Council – 2 p.m. 
This year, the EG Public Library celebrates their 50th anniversary! EG’s Public Library shared their 2024 Annual Report at the meeting. 

EG’s 2024 Strategic Plan Annual report was presented – you can read the report here and view the presentation here. 
A Proposed Procurement Approach in Response to Tariffs was on the agenda.

Corporate Services brought forward a memo on environmental initiatives to support Earth Week from April 22 to 26, 2025.
A memo regarding Council Remuneration and Expenses appeared on the agenda. Staff will report back at a future date on policies and guidelines on Council expenses.

Several Development Services memos appeared on the agenda.

Parks, Recreation and Culture brought forward a report on the Health and Active Living Plaza Fees, as well as a memo looking back at 2024 activities.

Parking Reminders
Warmer weather has arrived! Please keep in mind these parking reminders:

  • No parking on the road between 2 to 6 a.m. year-round.
  • No parking longer than three hours on any road.
  • EG offers a parking exemption period from 7 to 11 p.m. in addition to the three-hour parking limit, except during a snow event, meaning you may park on the road during these designated times.
  • Vehicles must be fully contained on the driveway and are not allowed to overhang onto the curb, road or sidewalk.
  • No vehicle should be parked on the grass (front lawn or boulevard).
  • No parking  in front of fire hydrants,  driveway entrances, and in no stopping or no parking areas.

Climate Change Adaptation Plan Survey
EG is developing a Climate Adaptation Plan and needs your input. Last year, EG identified the potential impacts of changing weather patterns. This is the initial work to define actions to help mitigate those impacts and be better prepared. To do so, we are reviewing the impacts and gathering ideas within the community. We want to hear from you! Potholes in EG
Residents are reminded to exercise caution on roads as potholes may have developed over the winter. EG regularly patrols the roads to monitor conditions and repair potholes as soon as possible. HALP Playground Survey
We want to hear from you! EG is seeking your feedback on a proposed playground structure at the Health and Active Living Plaza. The playground will offer a variety of play opportunities, including equipment for children aged two to 12, multiple deck levels, and both physical and cognitive play components. Your feedback is essential to help guide the design and ensure the playground meets the diverse needs of our community creating an inclusive environment for everyone. Notice of Aerial Application of Larvicide to Control Larval Mosquitoes
Weather permitting, beginning March 31 until May 31, the biological larvicide VectoBac 200G [PCP#18158, granular formulation] will be applied by helicopter to select standing water mosquito breeding habitats within EG. View the treatment areas at eastgwillimbury.ca/mosquito. This product contains B.t.i., which is specific to mosquito larvae. Mortality results within 24 hours; the larvicide biodegrades within 72 hours.   • Email the Environmental team your name, proposed date/time of the clean-up and location for the clean-up activity, and where the filled waste bags will be located after the cleanup. If you are organizing a large group event, please include that in your email.
  • Kits can be picked up in Customer Service at the Civic Centre, 19000 Leslie Street, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kits contain gloves and garbage bags.
