Budget Discussions Are Happening Now
East Gwillimbury Council is meeting to review the 2024 Budget. The first two meetings were held on November 13 and 15 and the next meeting will occur on November 22 in the Council Chambers at the Civic Centre. Residents can attend the meetings in-person or virtually watch the meetings on the Town’s YouTube Channel at www.youtube.com/TownEastGwillimbury.
The Budget was initially presented with an overall tax levy increase of approximately $155 per average household. Budget pressures include inflationary and contractual cost increases to maintain base programs and services, growth-related cost increases related to training, legal fees, and software licensing, new staffing requests, and service level enhancements including contributions to asset management reserves and funding for operating the Health and Active Living Plaza when construction is complete.
Council is working with staff to review the budgets and see where they can reduce the overall impact.
Council wants to hear your thoughts!
Every year, residents are asked to provide feedback and share how they’d like tax dollars invested. To complete the 2024 Budget feedback survey, view the Budget details, or watch the meetings, visit www.eastgwillimbury.ca/budget
