Covid-19 Updates - A staff memo was presented to Council outlining key Town COVID-19 updates. Items covered in the Memo include information about the Verify Ontario App, Council Operations continuing in a remote manner for the balance of 2021 with the potential for a hybrid meeting structure in 2022, and an update on the annual holiday Toy and Food drive. Seniors Community Grant: Awarded to EG - Staff announced that Ontario’s Seniors and Accessibility Ministry awarded up to $25,000 to the Town for the 2021 Seniors Community Grant program. The funding will contribute towards enhanced and safe programming within the Ontario loft at the Town’s Sports Complex.
Updates to Centre Street and Mount Albert Revitalization Projects - Staff provided an update on the Mount Albert Centre Street and the Holland Landing/Yonge Street Revitalization projects. The Mount Albert Project is currently undergoing a Request for Proposals process for design services. Additional economic development work is underway at the same time. The Holland Landing – Yonge Street Project is underway, and staff are reviewing input from the public. A revised concept plan is being developed and will be presented to Council in early 2022.
Bradford Bypass Update - As part of the recent provincial government Ontario Economic Outlook, plans were tabled to advance the Bradford Bypass, a key priority for the Town. Staff shared those details and provided a draft resolution for Council’s consideration to request updated information from the Province relating to the expected environmental impacts and traffic benefits of the project.
East Townline Bridge: Upcoming Closure - East Townline Bridge, located approximately 630 metres south of Holborn Road, is to be closed due to an unexpected and advancing localized failure of the deck. A design is being advanced to allow the bridge to be replaced/repaired as soon as possible commencing in 2022. Once plans for the closure are finalized, the surrounding community will be informed through the Town Page, website updates, signage and social media.
Updated Snowmobile Bylaw - Staff presented an updated Snowmobile By-law which now includes:

On Friday, November 19, Health Canada authorized the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in children 5 to 11 years of age. It is anticipated that administration of COVID-19 vaccinations for this age gorup will begin Friday, November 26, 2021. As you are cleaning up your gardens and yards for winter, make sure you are checking for LDD egg masses! LDD egg masses are oval in shape, tan in colour and fuzzy in texture. They tend to be on tree trunks and on the underside of branches and leaves, and other sheltered areas like deck chairs or firewood piles. On Tuesday, December 7 at 10 a.m. there will be a virtual meeting regarding the Amendment to the 2019 Development Charge By-law.
