The Town of East Gwillimbury is holding a statutory public meeting regarding options for a Town-initiated amendment to the Town’s Zoning By-law 2018-043, to regulate cannabis production facilities.
TAKE NOTICE that, according to Section 38 of the Planning Act, an Interim Control By-law was passed on June 9, 2020, and a subsequent extension of the By-law was passed on May 18, 2021, related to cannabis production facilities in the Town of East Gwillimbury. These interim controls last until June 9, 2022.
THE PURPOSE of the statutory public meeting is to seek input from Council and the public for a preferred approach to regulating cannabis production facilities in East Gwillimbury. This meeting is intended to discuss where cannabis production facilities are permitted within the Town and how they can be regulated.
Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 6 p.m.
ANY PERSON may participate in the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation regarding the proposed amendments. Please note that all comments received will be part of the public record. The virtual public meeting will be live-streamed on the Town website at: www.eastgwillimbury.ca/Portal.
To comment at the public meeting, you must pre-register no later than 12 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, by emailing the Clerks Department at clerks@eastgwillimbury.ca. To request to make a written submission for the public meeting email, planning@eastgwillimbury.ca.
