A look back - Committee of the Whole Council (CWC) – September 24, 2 p.m.
EG’s Economic Development provided an update on operations and activities alongside the Central York Chamber of Commerce.
The Finance Department presented a mid-year overview and together with Legal and Legislative Services, they shared the proposed 2025 Budget Development presentation and report. Budget information and how to get involved can be found on EG’s Budget page.
Parks, Recreation and Culture brought forward a Draft Tree Protection By-law. The enactment and implementation of the Tree Protection By-law was approved in principle, and staff were directed to develop separate compensation standards to promote good farming practice. Following further consultation and public information this matter will be brought to the October 22, 2024 Council meeting for consideration.

Vivian Trail Improvements
A portion of the Vivian Creek Trail, from Vivian Creek Park and Samuel Harper Court, will be closed until December 2024 to improve drainage, enhance local wetlands, and provide stream restoration along Vivian Creek. Vivian Creek Park, including the soccer fields, baseball diamonds and playground remain open. Access to Robert Munsch Public School is unaffected. Learn more at bit.ly/3zvhHST

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
As a Library that resides in the home of the First Peoples of the Williams Treaties First Nations and other Indigenous peoples, we thank them for sharing this land.
The East Gwillimbury Public Library has displays available at both of our Library branches for you to browse a variety of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation books in person.
You can also pick up a free National Day for Truth and Reconciliation bookmark that contains a book recommendation on the back.
