There have been reports of a coyote sighting along the Rogers Reservoir Conservation. Please take precautions to avoid conflicts or contact with wildlife.
If you run into wildlife, we ask residents to:
Be cautious
Pick up small children and dogs
Never run from or turn their back on a coyote
Slowly back away
Yell
Carry a flashlight when walking at night
Residents can help prevent coyotes from visiting their property by:
Keep pet food and water bowls indoors. Food can attract coyotes to your yard
Keep trash cans covered at all times
Put garbage out the morning of collection and not the night before
Do not allow a large amount of wild bird seed to remain on your lawn as it attracts prey for coyotes
Keep pets on leash during walks and indoors at night or enclosed in kennels
Keep cats indoors. Letting cats roam can draw coyotes into the area
Do not leave leftover food, garbage or dog feces in public or private outdoor spaces
