Inclusivity Sidewalk - Town staff will be proposing an approach, timelines and budget for the placement of Inclusion Sidewalks in East Gwillimbury for approval by Council. This was initiated by a report to Council from the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee of Council

Draft Updated Official Plan - The Draft Updated Official Plan was presented to Council. Public consultation for the plan began in October 2020 with Public Visioning Workshops. The next Open House will be on March 3. Details about the Open House and the Draft Updated Official Plan are available on the Official Plan Review webpage

Business Support

Resilient Communities Fund

The Resilient Communities Fund supports the recovery efforts of non-profit organizations impacted by COVID-19 and helps them respond with immediate, medium, and longer-term recovery projects. The fund grants $10,000 to $100,00 to support projects that help rebuild an organization’s capacity, enhance their resiliency, and meet the changing needs of their communities.

Summer Company Program 2022

Are you enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution as a full-time student and thinking about launching your own business? The 2022 Summer Company Program is now open to students between the ages of 15 to 29 who are registered to return to school full-time in September 2022. The program is designed to foster and develop the entrepreneurial spirit through hands-on training and skills development, coaching and guidance, mentorship to help develop and launch a business over the summer, and an opportunity to receive financial support of up to $3,000.

Public Notices

PROPERTY TAXES DUE

2022 property tax bills were mailed by January 14, 2022. Payments are due on February 28 and April 29. Payments can be made at your bank, online/phone banking or through a pre-authorized payment plan. Please contact the Town at 905-478- 4282 or email us for any questions.

2022 DOG LICENSES

The deadline to purchase 2022 dog licenses is Monday, February 28. Licenses are $37.70 per dog or $27.90 for seniors 65 and older. To learn more about EG’s Animal Care and Control By-law, or to purchase a dog license, visit our Animal Control page.

2022 EG FARMERS MARKET APPLICATIONS

Applications to join the EG Farmers Market for the 2022 season are open! If you’re a local farmer or vendor interested in joining us on Thursdays from 2 to 7 p.m. throughout the summer, please visit our Farmers Market page  for details and to apply.

WINTER COLLECTION REMINDERS

When placing garbage and bins out for collection, please place materials on your driveway and not on or behind snowbanks. Items placed out for collection should be placed on the right side of your driveway as you face the road to ensure our waste collection crews see the material and can safely collect it.

Medical masks, gloves and disinfectant wipes belong in the garbage. Please do not place these items in the recycling bin. To search how to properly dispose of your waste, visit our Collection Schedule page to use the Recycle Coach App.
